About DairyTech Solutions

A New Zealand agritech company building portable on-farm drying technology to convert waste milk into animal feed-grade powder.

Our Story

DairyTech Solutions was founded by a team with deep roots in New Zealand dairy farming, veterinary science, and agribusiness. The AXIS system grew from over a decade of on-farm experience with the waste milk problem. The solution came from that experience.

The original concept was developed in Northland over a decade ago by Dene Holyoake, who built the first roller drum dryer prototype to address the waste milk she saw being discharged on local dairy farms every season. That concept has since been redesigned from the ground up for improved efficiency, scalability, and regulatory compliance.

Today, DairyTech Solutions is in a critical prototype validation phase, working with engineering partners to finalise production drawings and secure manufacturing quotes. The goal is to empower farmers to reduce environmental discharge, recover value from waste streams, and create a usable product directly on-farm.

The Team

Dene Holyoake

Dene Holyoake

The Pioneer

The originator of on-farm milk drying in Northland, Dene developed the first roller drum dryer concept over a decade ago. Her approach has always been grounded in practical, common sense thinking: if it does not work simply and reliably on-farm, it does not work at all.

Tawa Holyoake

Tawa Holyoake

Founder & Director

Provides strategic governance and industry network access. With strong ties to Ahu Whenua Trusts across Northland, Tawa brings an important perspective on Maori land and farming interests, ensuring the AXIS system is developed with the needs of all New Zealand farming communities in mind.

Tohi Henry

Tohi Henry

Principal Inventor & CEO

The inventor of the AXIS drying system, Tohi has led the redesign of the original concept from the ground up for improved efficiency and scalability. He drives commercial strategy, investor relations, and regulatory engagement across the New Zealand dairy sector.

Tia Holyoake

Tia Holyoake

Chief Veterinary Officer

Tia is a veterinarian with industry expertise in animal nutrition, feed development, and production livestock systems. She leads DTSL's compliance pathway under the ACVM Act 1997, ensuring the AXIS system meets all requirements for safe, approved use as an animal feed-grade product on New Zealand farms.

Our Mission

New Zealand dairy farms generate an estimated 420 million litres of waste milk every season. Most of it goes straight to the effluent system. That is not just lost revenue - it is an environmental liability that is coming under increasing regulatory scrutiny.

DairyTech Solutions exists to solve this problem at the farm gate. The AXIS drying system intercepts waste milk before it reaches the effluent system and converts it into a stable, animal feed-grade powder that farmers can use on-farm or sell.

Our priorities are technology validation, regulatory compliance under the ACVM Act 1997, and strategic partnerships with key industry players to bring the AXIS system to market at scale.
